The 10 AI connectors worth wiring into your store

Every one verified against vendor documentation, with what each can actually do and what it cannot. Plus the six that everyone claims exist and do not.

By Anne Reyes · · 9 min read

Shopify, Klaviyo and Canva have each built their own connector for Claude. Not a third party wrapper. The companies themselves. Most brand owners paying for all three have never switched one on.

This entry is the honest version of a list you have probably seen a worse version of. I checked every single one against the vendor's own documentation before writing it down, which is how I found out that six of the tools people confidently claim have connectors do not have them at all.

That second list is the more useful one, so it is in here too.

What is inside What a connector actually changes about your marketing. The ten worth wiring in, sorted by how hard they are to set up, with the real capability and the real limit of each. The six that do not exist. And the order I would connect them in if you are starting today.

What does a connector actually change?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is the standard that lets an AI assistant connect to an outside service as a tool, so it can do things rather than only describe them.

Without connectors, AI can only talk to you. It writes the email and you go paste it into Klaviyo. It suggests the product copy and you go paste it into Shopify. Each of those handoffs takes a few minutes, and more importantly, each one is a place where the work gets quietly changed by whoever is doing the pasting.

With connectors, one instruction covers the whole chain:

What this looks like in practiceOne instruction, two platforms
Which product had the highest return rate last quarter? Read the reasons customers gave, then draft the post-purchase email that would have prevented most of them, in my brand voice, and put it in Klaviyo as a draft.

It pulls the orders and returns from Shopify. It writes the campaign into Klaviyo. You open Klaviyo, read it, and decide. No tabs, no clipboard, and no version of the copy that only exists in a chat window you are about to close.

Tier one: one click, built by the company itself

These appear in Claude's connector directory. You click connect, sign in, and you are done. No code, no keys, no terminal.

ConnectorWhat it can actually doThe real limit
Shopify Read and write. Add and update products, manage inventory across locations, create discount codes, read orders, customers and store analytics. Shopify also publishes two other servers, one for developer docs and one for shopper agents. Neither runs your store admin. Make sure you connect the merchant one.
Klaviyo Read and write. Campaign performance, profiles and segments, flows, templates, catalogs, and creating campaign drafts. Write actions are on by default. There is a read-only mode if you would rather start there, and I would.
Canva Read and write. Search designs, generate and edit them, autofill brand templates, resize, export, comment. Resize and brand kit features need Canva Pro or above. Generate, edit, export and search work on all plans.
Google Workspace Gmail, Drive and Calendar. Search and read mail, create and update drafts, read Docs and Sheets, save output to Drive, manage events. Gmail cannot send. Drafts only. Drive extracts text but does not process images inside documents.
Stripe Read and write across customers, payments and refunds, plus documentation search. Write access here moves money. Stripe recommends restricted keys and a human confirmation step, and they are right.

Tier two: paste a URL, five minutes, still no code

These are not in the directory yet, but they are official servers. You add them as a custom connector by pasting the address the vendor publishes.

ConnectorWhat it can actually doThe real limit
Gorgias Read and write. Read and analyze tickets, reply to customers, post internal notes, update status, query support analytics. Open beta. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner has to add it first. Worth it: this is the richest voice-of-customer source in your business.
Triple Whale Read only. ROAS, spend, revenue, product performance, trends, in plain language instead of dashboards. Read only by design, so it cannot change anything. Requires Moby on your plan.

Tier three: worth a developer's afternoon

All three are official and all three are genuinely powerful. None of them is a click. If you do not have someone technical, these are the ones to hand over rather than attempt.

ConnectorWhat it can actually doThe real limit
Meta Ads Read and write, and this one is the real thing. Create and edit campaigns, ad sets and ads, manage catalogs, read signals, set up A/B tests and lift studies. Requires an OAuth app or a manually generated token with several permissions. Not a click, not close to one.
Google Analytics 4 Read only. Account and property details, standard and realtime reports, funnels, custom dimensions. Google labels it experimental. Needs a Google Cloud project, two APIs enabled, and application credentials.
Apify Runs scrapers against competitor sites, marketplace listings and public review pages, then hands the results back as data you can act on. Consumes Apify plan credits. The quality of what you get depends entirely on picking the right scraper.

The six that do not exist

This is the section I would read first if someone handed me this list. Every one of these gets described online as having a connector. None of them does, in the way people mean it.

Connecting more tools will not make your marketing better. It removes the handoffs, not the judgment.

What order would I connect them in?

Not all at once. Every connector you add is another place the AI can reach, and the point is to build the habit of reviewing what comes back, not to hand over the keys in an afternoon.

  1. Google Drive first. It is where your brand folder already lives, and it is read heavy, so nothing can go wrong while you learn the rhythm.
  2. Shopify second. Start by only asking it questions. Which products are quietly selling, which have the worst return rate, what customers ordered together. You will learn more in an hour than in a month of dashboards.
  3. Klaviyo third, in read-only mode for the first week. Ask it what actually drove revenue in your last twelve campaigns before you let it draft anything.
  4. Gorgias fourth, if you use it. Point it at the last six months of tickets and ask what customers keep asking that your product pages never answer.
  5. Canva last, once the words are right. Design is the easiest place to generate a lot of output that is fast and wrong.

Nothing goes out without you

The question I get every time I set these up is a version of the same fear: is AI about to email my list.

No. Gmail can draft and cannot send. Klaviyo builds the campaign and you press send inside Klaviyo. Google Analytics can only read. Triple Whale can only read. Even the tier three connectors with full write access still sit behind an approval, because that is how any serious operator would configure them.

That gate is not a limitation to work around. It is the reason this is safe to do, and it is where your judgment goes. AI does the production. You still decide what ships.

What is an MCP connector?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is the standard that lets an AI assistant connect to an outside service as a tool, so it can take real action instead of only writing text. With one, the AI reads your Shopify orders and drafts inside Klaviyo directly. Without one, every handoff is still you.

Which ones are actually one click?

Shopify, Klaviyo, Canva, Stripe and the Google Workspace set all appear in Claude's connector directory and connect through sign-in. Gorgias and Triple Whale are official but need a URL pasted in. Meta Ads, Google Analytics and Apify need real technical setup.

Can AI send emails to my customer list?

Not without you. Gmail's connector creates drafts and cannot send. Klaviyo's builds and drafts campaigns, and you send from Klaviyo. The approval gate is deliberate.

Why is my email or reviews platform not on the list?

Because it probably does not have an official connector yet. Attentive, Postscript, Recharge, Yotpo, Judge.me and Mailchimp Marketing do not. Anything you find for those is third party middleware, which is a different product with a different price.

Every connector in this entry was checked against the vendor's own documentation on July 31, 2026. This is a fast-moving area, so if you are reading this months later, check the vendor's docs before you plan around it.
